Stan Nze is a Nigerian actor married to actress Blessing Obasi, with whom he welcomed a child in 2023. He recently spoke about the importance of forgiveness in romantic relationships and marriage, stating that he can forgive infidelity in a relationship. He also emphasised that love remains the strongest foundation for sustaining a successful marriage.
Speaking at the premiere of the movie ‘Ajosepo’, the actor discussed why forgiveness is crucial, even in cases of infidelity, as long as it comes from a sincere place of love. According to Stan, a major reason many marriages fail is a lack of forgiveness.
“Love is enough, real love. I’m not talking about the butterflies in your tummy; it’s not that. The one that Christ preached, the one that is agape, the love in Galatians 5:23, it’s not built on flesh; it’s genuine. It is the one that is selfless, the one that is kind and that forgives easily,” he said.

“Love is enough if it is the right love. Yes, I can forgive cheating, but we shall not continue in sin that grace may abound, so you will not be stupid, but if someone offends you or someone does something that is not right, that’s what it is… It is not a licence to be stupid, but it is something that you should be able to forgive,” he said.
Cheating is still one of the most debated topics in relationships today.
A number of Nigerian celebrities have weighed in on the cheating conversations. Toyosi Etim-Effiong, wife of actor Daniel Etim-Effiong, stated that cheating is not a deal-breaker in her marriage, emphasising forgiveness, faith, and commitment.
Conversely, the separation between Frank and Sandra Edoho attracted public attention. Their past issues resurfaced online as both sides were linked to accusations of infidelity. The situation reignited conversations about trust and breakdowns in marriage.
As long as the sun shines, like Stan Nze, people will continue to express diverse views on infidelity, trust, and forgiveness on social media platforms, podcasts and in public.
