Donald Trump, President of the United States, made another move to limit birthright citizenship on Thursday by signing an order concentrating on those who enter the nation under the pretext of tourism but intend to give birth there.
He highlighted how immigrants who come into the country have an ulterior objective of giving birth in the country so that their child(ren) can become citizens of the United States, and he claims that individuals who have engaged or are about to engage in this act have made a joke about it
Trump told a journalist in the Oval Office, “They’ve taken birthright citizenship and made a joke out of it.” 
The United President has proposed this issue to the US Supreme Court but they stuck his previous effort to restrict the constitutionally granted right in a late June ruling.
Trump Makes Second Attempt to Restrict Birthright Citizenship with New Order
Last year, Trump issued an executive order stating that children born to parents who entered the country illegally or on temporary visas would not be granted US citizenship by birth.
Given that almost everyone born in the United States is an American citizen under the Citizenship Clause of the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution, lower courts barred the move.
Chief Justice John Roberts, together with two other conservative-leaning judges and the three liberal-leaning justices, wrote a majority decision in which the Supreme Court agreed.
Trump’s attempt to remove birthright citizenship is part of a larger drive to curtail immigration, which includes expelling millions of unauthorised migrants and removing deportation safeguards for citizens of more than a dozen nations.
The 14th Amendment says that “All persons born or naturalised in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States.”
