1. Asake

Four of the five most listened-to artists in Kenya are American hip-hop and R&B singers. Drake leads, followed by Chris Brown, Future and Travis Scott, and all four are big global stars.

Burna Boy is the only African artist on the list, and his presence speaks to his strong cross-continental appeal. Compared to Nigeria and Ghana, Kenya’s streaming habits lean much more heavily toward international urban music, particularly hip-hop and R&B.
