Mr Eazi and Temi Ajibade Nee Otedola sat down for their ‘How Far’ podcast after a two-year hiatus and dished out the behind-the-scenes of their glamorous wedding.
The 3-year Engagement

The initial goal was simply commitment. As Mr Eazi explains, “When I proposed, I wasn’t thinking of the wedding (date). I just wanted to commit.” They got engaged and didn’t jump straight into wedding planning, saying, “We waited for almost 4 years, and everyone kept asking us, ‘When is the wedding?'”
The Stressful Planning Process
A year into the engagement, they finally started looking for a date and a wedding planner. This phase quickly became a source of stress. “People always say weddings are stressful, but you don’t know how stressful they are,” Temi admitted.
The stress was intense: Temi said, “You could get so sucked up with the wedding, and you’ll fight, and then it brought out the extreme parts of our personality.” Their first fight over wedding planning came from deciding who will be the wedding planner; Mr Eazi liked someone, and Temi didn’t.

Finding the Right Team for Temi & Mr Eazi’s Wedding
Temi had an immediate vision for her photographer: “Immediately I knew who I wanted to do my wedding photos with: Jose Villa.” Jose is an international wedding photographer who works with celebrities and Vogue Magazine.

Finding the wedding planner was a longer process. They needed someone “who could do events across the countries.” Temi described the vetting process: “We dated different wedding planners; we went on dates with them. Some of them sent us flowers.” She initially over-prepared, creating a detailed document: “I made, like, a 100-page deck, but you (Mr Eazi) will just go on Instagram and find someone.”
They eventually took a “timeout” from the planning stress, and the last planner they spoke to was the one they hired. They learnt a valuable lesson: “One thing we learnt is to contract them per event and don’t give it (money) all out immediately. They have to prove themselves with one event first.”
The Decision for the Civil Wedding in Monaco

For the civil wedding itself, they quickly ruled out Nigeria due to privacy concerns—they wouldn’t get privacy at the local government office where most Nigerian weddings take place, and Temi didn’t want to get married in her Nigerian house because that option exists, as the officials can come to your location to officiate a wedding.

They considered an elopement-style wedding but ultimately settled on the civil wedding in Monaco, in the South of France.
“There was a bunch of admin work to do to get married in Monaco,” Mr Eazi said. The wedding was only possible because, as Mr Eazi stated, “We are both Monaco residents, which is why we were even able to get married there.” Even after getting the residency, it “took the next year” to finalise the legalities.

The Monaco Civil Wedding & Fashion
The ceremony was intended to be “understated but detailed glam”.
The Fashion
The couple approached their looks differently:
- Temi’s Looks: Temi wore a total of 4 looks throughout the wedding and had pre-glam outfits. She had a vision and also a glam team she can trust and worked with stylist Carrie Lauren. Mr Eazi observed, “If you are working with Temi, you can’t have one look.” For the civil wedding, Temi wanted it “very classic” with a “midi skirt, corset and jacket” from Wiederhoeft & Christopher John Rogers. Her makeup was done by Harold and James.
- Mr Eazi’s Look: He initially spent time creating just one detailed look before he changed his plans, mentioning, “I didn’t want to look like I was escorting her.” His inspiration came from the environment—the city of Monaco being such an independent, beautiful country, the Prince of Monaco, and (actor) Colman Domingo. He also wore his “first custom Louis Vuitton”.
Big Moments on the Civil Wedding Day
The day of the ceremony was bittersweet. They were happy to do the civil wedding on Mr Eazi’s late mother’s birthday, but it was sad she wasn’t there to experience it. They also faced unexpected traffic and thought they wouldn’t make it to the town hall on time, not to mention Temi’s prior eye infection.
The post-court celebration was tough because it was during the Grand Prix, and “Monaco is teeming with people during that time.”
They just wanted a place to chill after the civil ceremony, and their eventual wedding planner revealed that the villa they used was owned by Karl Lagerfeld, former creative director of Chanel. Temi loved the view at the villa, and they ended up taking amazing pictures there.

Their civil wedding was in French which was interesting. Temi says one thing that shocked her was the civil wedding itself being anticlimactic: “You just sign the paper, and you are husband and wife.”
The couple is in the process of big life changes. Mr Eazi noted they are living in Dubai and he said, “By next year we’ll be stable in Dubai.” They are also renovating their house.
This was just episode 1 of their podcast this season; we expect more exciting wedding details and secrets to be revealed as other episodes drop.
