The ‘Speed Does Africa Tour’ has been quite demanding for global internet personality, iShowSpeed. Coming off his 21st birthday during another chaotic stop in Lagos, Nigeria, Speed visit to Ghana was a relaxing sight.
What better way to wind down your tour than getting a massage from 10 beautiful African women at the Shea Butter Museum in Ghana?
Still, that was not all the treat this West African country had for Speed. From a royal welcome to a naming ceremony where he got a Ghanaian name, here’s how Ghana won iShowSpeed over.

Speed Visit to Ghana Began with A Royal Welcome
Speed landed in Ghana on Sunday, January 25, where he was welcomed at the airport by a large crowd of fans. But his formal welcome came with a traditional Akan naming ceremony in the Eastern Region.
He was treated to a royal pageantry before he received the name Barima Kofi Akuffo. His new Ghanaian name symbolises strength, bravery, and community ties. ‘Barima’ means brave or noble, like a hero. ‘Kofi’ indicates being born on Friday, a symbol of fertility and peace. ‘Akuffo’ is a family name in the Akan tradition.
Organized by local chiefs and elders, this ceremony changed a community space into a lively celebration. The whole community celebrated in different colourful regalia, ‘fontomfrom’ drums, and Speed himself dressed in traditional cloth. The famous American streamer and YouTube star appeared touched by the warm reception, especially when he got introduced to the King.
Also, to support his tour and streaming activities, the state provided him with a helicopter for mobility and coverage ease.
Starting the Day with a Waterfall Massage
Speed’s visit to Ghana, then kicked off calmly shortly after. Popular YouTuber Wode Maya organized a relaxing massage for iShowSpeed and his team at the Asenema Waterfall in Akropong.
Basking in the serenity of nature, the streamer appeared visibly pleased amidst young local women. Other members of his team joined in, adding this relaxing, wholesome yet entertaining livestream moment.
Closing the Day with a 10-Woman Massage
After this massage, Speed was treated to a generous serving of Ghanaian jollof rice prepared by top chefs. This moment was a highlight thanks to the long-standing Nigeria vs Ghana jollof wars. Despite his playful backflip into the large cooking pot and him hesitantly and momentarily choosing Nigerian jollof as the winner, he still declared a tie.
Indeed, the high-energy backflips at Independence Square, car stunts, and his boxing spar with Bukom Banku were viral moments. However, his visit to Hamamat’s Shea Butter Museum was another way Ghana passed that relaxation message.
The stream showcasing Speed visit to Ghana ended with his stop at West Africa’s biggest private shea butter museum. This museum is home to the largest variety of shea butter products in the sub-region. Hamamat Montia, a former beauty queen and the owner of the museum, introduced the streamer to the museum’s offerings.
Speed wrapped up his visit with a massage from ten women at once. This moment soon became a talking point online, with celebrities like Davido playfully envying iShowSpeed’s treatment.
Speed Visit to Ghana was as Relaxing as Home Should Be
In a live stream from Akropong in the Eastern Region on Monday, 26 January 2026, Speed called Ghana ‘home.’ In his words, “I’m really excited, bro, I’m back home. Bro, ain’t a better feeling. That makes it even better.”
He further announced his Ghanaian heritage through his mother. “I do got family that’s Ghanaian, my mother. It’s exciting to stream here,” he added.
Speed visit to Ghana only lasted for a day. But, judging by how relaxing it appeared to be, he should be fresh for his next and likely final stop in Namibia.
