One of the fashion conversations from AMVCA 2026 came from Queen Mercy Atang’s dramatic gold and bread outfit, which quickly went viral with many people recreating AI images of dresses showing their business. Now, even Guinness World Records joined the conversation.

The reality star arrived at AMVCA 2026 in a dramatic gold gown made by Tiannah Styling’s Elegante brand, and within hours, the outfit had completely taken over social media conversations.

While the dress had a heavily embellished upper structure covered in sparkling gold gems, the lower part of the outfit immediately caught people’s attention online. The layered design had pastry-like structures made of 500 loaves of bread, giving the outfit a look many people described as “cake-inspired”.

During her red carpet interview, she explained that the outfit was inspired by and was intended to represent her brand, ‘Sweet Cakes and Dessert’.

Reactions began flooding Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Snapchat, and X. Some people praised the boldness of the look and admired the effort that clearly went into constructing such an unconventional design, describing it as “wearing your business”. Others turned the outfit into memes and creative edits, including AI-generated images inspired by the concept.

The conversation reached another level when Guinness World Records commented on her Instagram page: “Well, we do have a record for the largest cake dress… hmmm.”

What made the moment even more interesting was that Queen Mercy Atang was not trying to break any record. There was no official Guinness World Record attempt attached to the outfit. Yet somehow, the internet managed to turn the look into one of the most unexpected fashion moments of the AMVCA weekend.

The conversation continued in her comment section, where her followers began suggesting that she could consider turning the look into an official record attempt while also congratulating her for the success.

The largest wearable cake dress, which weighed 131.15 kg, was achieved by Natasha Coline in Bern, Switzerland, on 15 January 2023.

In response to the growing attention, she also acknowledged the moment by tagging Guinness World Records on her page; who knows, she could be a world record holder in no time.
