Nigerian gospel singer Onos Nancy Brisibi has passed away at the age of 55.
Her family told Nigerians the sad news in a statement on Thursday, revealing that she died on March 23, 2026, after a prolonged sickness. Her cousin, Nigerian actor, Richard Mofe Damijo called it, “a long and difficult illness’ in his personal tribute.
In the statement, the family paid tribute to her life, faith, and musical legacy, saying: 
“Onos Nancy Brisibi was a devoted Christian, a gifted songstress, and a passionate praise and worship leader whose angelic voice touched many lives as she spread the gospel through music.”
“She will be remembered as a beautiful, fun-loving woman with a heart of gold, whose faith, warmth, and kindness left lasting impressions on all who knew her.”

Ono’s Legacy
Onos was born on November 20th 1970 in Delta State. The gospel singer was known for her powerful vocals and deep spiritual presence, particularly within LoveWorld Ministries (Christ Embassy), where she served as a prominent worship leader.
Beyond the church, her voice was a defining sound in Nollywood. Her tracks were featured in movies like ‘Domitilla’, ‘Blood Money’, and ‘Mortal Inheritance’ as well as ‘Deadly Passion’.
The late gospel singer began singing at a young age. went on to build a career that spanned music, film soundtracks, and live worship performances.
She is survived by her daughter, her mother, siblings, extended family and friends.
She will be remembered not just for her voice, but for the warmth she carried throughout her life on earth.
