‘My Father Left a Lot of Properties for His Children’ – Mr Ibu’s 4th Child Claps Back

Two years after his death, Mr Ibu’s wife and children need financial help because his “first class wife” allegedly had other plans with the wealth he left behind.

Somtochukwu Okafor has spoken out against the video released by King Mitchy, who begged Nigerians for financial assistance on behalf of the late John Okafor’s (Mr. Ibu) wife, Stella Marris Okafor, and children.

In the video now making the rounds on social media, TikTok influencer King Mitchy paid a visit to the family of the late actor. What she discovered was almost unbelievable and got people talking. The family had been living without electricity and water for weeks, school fees were unpaid, and basic needs were going unmet. The visit highlighted the dire situation that Mr. Ibu’s children from different mothers now face.

Somtochukwu Okafor’s video showed his frustration as he accused his late father’s wife of seizing control of his father’s extensive property.

“I decided to do this video today because this, her (Stella Marris Okafor’s) character, is becoming a slap to the rest of my dad’s family and children,” the late Mr. Ibu’s third son said in a video.

In the video, Okafor accused Stella Marris of selling the late actor’s properties, like houses in Lagos, Enugu, and Asaba, allegedly for about 60 million, 17 million, and 11 million naira, respectively. He also added that she squandered the remnant of the money in the bank that was contributed by the good people of Nigeria for Mr. Ibu while he was sick between 2023 and 2024.

“My father left many properties for all of us, yet she took control of everything. She even sold my father’s house in Lagos for ₦60 million without reaching out to any of his children.”

“She cut me off totally from my father’s properties and assets… up to date, I’ve been unable to collect my WAEC result because I’m still owing school fees,” he added.

Mr. Ibu was open about having a large family from multiple relationships. According to the BBC, he admitted to having 13 children, some of whom were adopted.

He was married twice in his lifetime, and Stella Marris Chinyere Okafor, whom he calls “Chibest” or “First Class,” happens to be his second wife, with whom, according to Vanguard, he had five children (one of whom passed away after he was kidnapped). The identity and full name of his first wife are not widely publicised in mainstream biographies, but she had four children for him.

He died on March 2, 2024, (aged 62) at Evercare Hospital in Lekki, Lagos, due to cardiac arrest following a prolonged illness.

Mr. Ibu entertained millions, but his greatest role might have been as a father to children from multiple relationships. Stella Marris is yet to make a statement on this new development; until then, this Mr Ibu inheritance dispute story is just unfolding.
