Meta has introduced Muse, a personal AI agent that is designed to do more than answer questions.
According to the CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, on September 8, Muse is designed to understand a user’s goals and work around the clock to get them done.
What Can Muse Do
Zuckerberg says Muse can help achieve goals such as strengthening relationships, improving health, managing a home, building a business, or saving and making money. 
It is built to take action and not only answer questions like other chatbots.

According to him, he uses his own Muse to organise projects with his children. He uses it to order ingredients so he can bake with his youngest daughter. He also uses it to secure mountain-climbing permits for his oldest.
“I use it to monitor my MMA training and health, and to help me find talented researchers and people that I want to meet,” he added.
The agent can also flag unused subscriptions to cut costs. It can adjust a training plan after a poor night’s sleep, or coordinate trips and nights out with friends.
How Muse Works
Muse runs on a dedicated cloud environment called the Muse Secure VM. It is essentially a private virtual computer for each user that includes its own browser. This setup allows the agent to operate across apps and services the user connects, continuing to work even after the app is closed.
Users interact with it through a dedicated Muse app (iOS and Android), the website muse.ai, or directly inside WhatsApp. Support for Meta’s AI glasses is planned.
The agent is powered by Meta’s Muse Spark model and can handle both short tasks and longer-running goals. Once given a goal, it helps create a plan, coordinates resources, and advances the work independently while checking in when needed.
Meta emphasises that Muse was designed from the ground up for privacy and security. Meta also plans a higher-security “Confidential VM” option later. This option is modelled on WhatsApp’s encryption approach, in which even Meta would not be able to access the information inside a user’s Muse agent.

Availability and Pricing
Muse is rolling out first in the United States and is free for up to 100 million tokens per week. Paid subscription plans are available for heavier users who need more capacity.
Muse is basically Meta’s attempt to turn AI from a conversational tool into a practical, always-on helper that handles real-world tasks.
