If it wasn’t glaring before, Olandria Carthen of “Love Island” is the breakout star of reality TV.
Her appearance at the Golden Globes Eve on January 6, 2026, said it all. At the event, she showcased her fashion prowess in a semi-sheer, award-worthy gown styled by Matthew and Reginald Reisman.
The look was made by Nigerian label Sevon Dejana, which Segun Aladejana founded in 2015.
The Reismans worked with the Nigerian designer to adapt a heavily embroidered Fall 2025 gown.

The gown had a meticulously fitted, free-standing square-neck bodice made of black velvet, which served as a backdrop to its beautiful floral beadwork and gemstones.
The design also included an olive satin drop-waist train centered with a 3D pink rosette that draped over her hips. The gown flowed from an opaque bustier to a sheer fabric while keeping its garden theme, with earth-toned sequins and appliqués that sparkled against the sheer black fabric.
Not everyone was a fan of the look; some complained that it looked better on a model with wider hips, while others compared her outfit to the one worn by Bonang Matheba to host Miss Cosmo.
The truth? We’re not listening to naysayers; Olandria slayed, and it shows that truly Nigerian fashion is going global.
