As we add FaddotheGreat to an already long list, we can now call Nigeria a Guinness World Records (GWR) favourite. Between 2020 and now, over 30 Nigerians have broken records confirmed by the reference book. That’s an average of five or six every year without adding several other attempts, mostly ridiculous ones. Hi Chef Dami👀

In that same period, Hilda Baci became a three-time GWR holder. Now, we have FaddotheGreat with the longest magic show by an individual.

Born Ibitoye Kingfahd, FaddotheGreat is known as Nigeria’s most stylish illusionist. He’s one of the biggest talents changing what modern magic is across Africa.

It all started over a decade ago as simple tricks for friends and family. But gradually, it evolved into a real aspiration. For him, magic was never just about spectacle. He wants to create shared moments of joy, curiosity, and connection.

Over time, he realised that while magic is a multi-billion-dollar global industry standing shoulder to shoulder with music, film, and comedy, it had little visibility in Nigeria. That gap became the mission of his platform.

Determined to put Nigerian magic on the global map, FaddotheGreat began crafting a new identity for the art form. His choice is to deliver premium, stylish, contemporary, and proudly African magic performances. He ditched the clichés of capes and top hats. Instead, he developed a performance style that combines illusion, storytelling, and humour, attracting ‘new-age’ audiences.

A First-Class Civil Engineering graduate, FaddotheGreat spent over a year designing custom props and undergoing rigorous physical conditioning to prepare for the challenge.

Now, he has performed at over 300 events for brands and institutions, including Heineken, Jameson, Flutterwave, the Lagos State Government, Endeavor, and the Troost Ekong Foundation. He has consistently entertained crowds at intimate private gatherings and audiences of over 5,000 people.

In November 2025, FaddotheGreat etched his name into global history. And now, Guinness World Records has officially confirmed that he set a new record for the Longest Magic Show by an Individual. His successful attempt saw him perform continuously for 50 hours, surpassing the previous 30-hour, 45-minute record held since 2004 by the UK’s Richard Smith.

The marathon performance took place from November 27 to 29 at the POP Landmark Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos. Across three intense days, he executed more than 1,200 distinct tricks, ranging from precision card illusions to mentalism and full-scale stage acts. Under GWR rules, he could not repeat a trick within a four-hour window. That meant he had to put in extraordinary preparation and show endurance.

After receiving his official plaque, he described the feat as bigger than himself: “This record is more than a personal milestone. It is a statement for the Nigerian magic industry… Magic is a sophisticated art form, a craft of logic and wonder that belongs on the world’s biggest stages.”

With this feat, there’s a fresh and broader conversation about repositioning magic in Nigeria. For Fahd, it isn’t mysticism, it’s mastery.
