Three young Nigerians have built one of the most talked-about job apps in the United States, and they did it in just seven weeks.

Oluwapelumi Dada, Daniel Ajayi, and David Alade are the brains behind Sorce, a mobile-first platform many now describe as the “Tinder for jobs.”

The app allows users to swipe right to apply for a job, and an AI agent handles the rest.

Oluwapelumi Dada, the CEO, grew up in Lagos, Nigeria, and his interest in technology started early. He learned Java at just 11 years old before moving to the United States for university, where he got opportunities to intern at Tesla and Dell.

Daniel Ajayi, the CTO, trained at MIT and built the AI agent infrastructure that powers Sorce. He also interned at major tech companies, including Nvidia.

David Alade, the iOS and product lead, studies at Northeastern University. He specialises in building sleek, mobile-first applications.

He and Dada met on X (formerly Twitter), connected over their shared ambition, and decided to meet in person. Seven weeks later, Sorce was ready to launch.

Sorce simplifies the process of applying for jobs. Users upload their CV once, and the app then recommends roles that match their profile from over 1.6 million open positions across industries.

When a user swipes right on a job, Sorce’s AI agent automatically visits the employer’s website and completes the application. What usually takes 15 minutes can now take as little as three seconds.

The platform has already submitted more than one million applications on behalf of users, and more than 1,000 users have reportedly secured jobs through the app.

While in San Francisco, Dada spotted entrepreneur and podcast host Sam Parr jogging. He chased him down and pitched his idea on the spot.

Parr later posted about the encounter on X, and the post gained over 1.7 million views and brought major attention to Dada’s drive and product.

Investors began to take notice, and Founders Inc. became one of the first to back the idea.

When Sorce launched in August 2024, the announcement post gained 1.5 million views, and since then, the app has recorded over 20 million swipes.

In another bold move, the team applied to Y Combinator’s fall 2025 batch after missing the deadline.

Soon after, they received an email, and Sorce was accepted into the accelerator.

For three young Nigerian immigrants building in a highly competitive space, this was a defining moment.

The company now operates from San Francisco with a growing team. It has expanded beyond the original three founders and continues to improve its AI matching and application accuracy.

Dada has said his long-term goal is to completely reinvent recruitment within the next five to ten years.
