Lagos State lawmaker and Nollywood actor Desmond Elliot has apologised to his political mentor, Femi Gbajabiamila. Elliot sought forgiveness after their relationship reportedly suffered during recent political disagreements in Lagos.
In a video shared online, the 52-year-old politician went on his knees before Gbajabiamila. He also appealed for forgiveness and expressed his desire to reunite with the Lagos All Progressives Congress family.
Disagreement Over Fourth-Term Ambition
The disagreement reportedly began when Gbajabiamila opposed Elliot’s bid for a fourth term. At the time, Elliot represented Surulere Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly. Reports claimed that Gbajabiamila backed Barajat Odunuga-Bakare, a female candidate, instead.
However, Elliot openly rejected the decision and insisted on pursuing another term. He subsequently contested the APC direct primary scheduled for May 20. Despite his efforts, the actor-turned-politician lost the contest.
Before now, Gbajabiamila was Elliot’s political godfather who helped Nollywood actor achieved his dream as a politician.
