The relationship of former Big Brother Naija Housemates Bella Okagbue and Segun ‘Sheggz’ Olusemo was one of those BBNaija couples people rooted for heavily to lead to marriage.
But sadly, the BBNaija couple, Sheggz and Bella, have confirmed the end of their relationship. The couple met and began dating during the show’s ‘Level Up’ season in 2022.
Their romance became one of the season’s most followed relationships. However, the pair have now gone their separate ways. 
Their split follows months of speculation from fans and renewed discussions about their relationship.
Fans notice signs of breakup
Speculation intensified after fans noticed that Sheggz and Bella had unfollowed each other on Instagram. Bella also reportedly removed several pictures featuring Sheggz from her social media page.
Meanwhile, on May 29, Sheggz posted a photo of Bella on her birthday, celebrating her. Bella’s elder sister, Sandra Okagbue, publicly addressed Sheggz in the comments section, asking him to take down the celebratory post.
“Kindly take down Bella’s pictures,” Sandra told the reality star.
The request further fuelled speculation about the couple’s status. However, neither reality star immediately offered a detailed explanation.
Sheggz has now broken his silence, offering his version of events.
Sheggz says his relationship with Bella ended in January
In a statement shared on X on Wednesday, August 19, Sheggz said the relationship ended in January 2026. He denied cheating on Bella and said he had remained single since then.
“I am not an abuser,” he stated.

Sheggz also revealed that 2025 was an extremely difficult year for him.
According to him, he spent considerable time in and out of the hospital. He later travelled to England for treatment before returning to Nigeria in October. After returning, he said he discovered information that made him question the relationship. He claimed he had given several opportunities for the truth to emerge since 2024.
However, he said the situation created issues of trust and respect.
Sheggz reveals he wanted to marry Bella
Despite the difficulties, Sheggz said he genuinely wanted the relationship to succeed. He revealed that he even bought a ring because he believed they could build a future together.
“I had loved Bella deeply and genuinely hoped we would spend our lives together,” he said.
The reality star said they attempted reconciliation after their January breakup. However, he eventually decided that certain issues could not be overlooked. He said marriage requires honesty, mutual respect, and effective communication.
Sheggz added that he respected Bella’s family and understood their feelings about the breakup.
Sheggz has again rejected the allegations against him. He also said he wants to avoid a public confrontation.
“I simply want to move forward peacefully with dignity and respect for everyone involved,” he said.
He wished Bella well and urged everyone involved to move on with grace.
Sheggz later pulled down his initial post and replaced it with another citing being misquoted.
