Many aspiring stars dream of entering the Big Brother Naija house as a lifetime opportunity. But some had the opportunity, became housemates but chose to leave BBNaija house before the competition ended.
With varying reasons ranging from health concerns to pressing personal matters. Here are three notable housemates who voluntarily exited the reality show.
1. Kayvee: Season 6
Ololade Gbolahan who went to the show as Kayvee voluntarily left the Shine Ya Eye season in 2021 after experiencing health concerns. The photographer had joined the show with hopes of making a lasting impression. However, his time inside the house became difficult.
After consulting Big Brother and the show’s medical team, Kayvee decided to withdraw. His exit reminded viewers that personal wellbeing must sometimes come before competition.
Although his journey ended early, Kayvee continued to receive support from fans outside the house.
Kayvee currently works as a professional filmmaker, photographer and is a licensed custom agent.
2. Sabrina Idukpaye: Season 10
Four years after Kayvee left, Sabrina Idukpaye requested to exit the competition on medical grounds.
The Season 10 contestant experienced health challenges during her stay. Consequently, she had to leave the house for medical attention. Sabrina later revealed that she had hoped to return after completing her medical checks.

3. Neche: Season 11
Neche Maduagwu, fondly referred to as Neche, became the latest housemate to voluntarily leave the reality show on Sunday, August 16, 2026.
The former Head of House exited shortly after the live eviction programme. She gathered the housemates in the lounge and announced her decision. She then removed her microphone and name tag before proceeding to the diary room.
The lawyer-turned-reality star cited pressing personal matters as the reason for her departure. However, neither she nor the organisers publicly disclosed further details.
Her decision surprised viewers, especially after her recent achievement as the season’s first female Head of House to win a wager.
For contestants, constant cameras, isolation and intense competition can create enormous pressure. Fame and opportunity do not always outweigh personal priorities.
Sometimes, walking away is not a sign of defeat. Instead, it can mean choosing what matters most outside the house.
