Tanzanian singer Zuchu has announced that she is expecting her first child, weeks after confirming that her marriage to fellow musician Diamond Platnumz had ended.
The singer shared the news on Instagram, posting photos that showed her baby bump. She did not reveal how far along the pregnancy is or share any additional details.
The announcement comes weeks after Zuchu told fans that she and Diamond Platnumz had separated and had begun divorce proceedings. In a statement posted on her Instagram Stories, she said they had ended their relationship after six years together. She also said she wanted to focus on her health, healing and music.

Her statement followed days of speculation about the couple’s relationship. Fans questioned her absence from celebrations for Diamond Platnumz’s mother, Mama Dangote. Around the same time, Diamond’s close associate and Tanzanian lawmaker Baba Levo claimed publicly that Zuchu was pregnant.
The claim spread quickly across social media. Neither Zuchu nor Diamond responded to it at the time. Zuchu’s latest post has now confirmed the pregnancy.
Diamond Platnumz has not commented on the announcement. He has also not addressed the ongoing divorce proceedings since Zuchu shared the news earlier this month.
Zuchu signed with Diamond Platnumz’s WCB Wasafi record label in 2020. The pair confirmed their relationship the following year and went on to become one of East Africa’s most talked-about celebrity couples. Their relationship drew regular attention online, with several public breakups and reconciliations making headlines over the years.
Reports in 2025 claimed the couple had married in a private Islamic ceremony, although they kept details of the marriage largely out of the public eye. Their latest separation ended months of speculation about the state of their relationship.
Beyond their personal lives, the pair also worked together on several songs, including Cheche, Mtasubiri and Number One. Their collaborations became some of the biggest releases under the WCB Wasafi label.
Zuchu has not said whether the pregnancy will affect the divorce proceedings. Diamond Platnumz has yet to issue a statement on either the pregnancy or the separation.
