General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has shared fresh details about his conversation with President Bola Tinubu on Nigeria’s security challenges while also revealing what he said God told him concerning the abducted schoolchildren in Oyo State.

Speaking during a church programme, Adeboye said insecurity remains one of the country’s biggest challenges but maintained that President Tinubu had already fulfilled his responsibility by directing security agencies to act.

According to the cleric, he publicly advised the President in 2024 to issue a 90-day ultimatum to security chiefs to either end terrorism and kidnapping or resign from office.

He said he later repeated the same advice during a private meeting with President Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu.

“When the Commander-in-Chief has given instructions to his subordinates, he has done his bit,” Adeboye said.

“You don’t expect him to go and wear khaki and go to the battlefield himself.”

He compared the President’s role to that of the President of the United States, saying commanders-in-chief are expected to issue directives while security agencies carry out military operations.

Adeboye’s comments came as he reflected on the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State, an incident that drew national attention and renewed concerns over insecurity.

The RCCG leader disclosed that after praying about the incident, he believed God assured him the children would regain their freedom.

“God said to me, ‘The release of these children is going to be dramatic,'” he said.

Adeboye added that God also spoke to him about those allegedly sponsoring terrorism and kidnapping in the country. However, he said he would not disclose further details because God instructed him to leave that aspect in His hands.

While defending the President’s role as commander-in-chief, the cleric acknowledged that insecurity has spread beyond parts of northern Nigeria into several southern states, describing the situation as a serious national concern.
