Sister of global Afrobeats star Davido, Sharon Adeleke is doing some deep cleaning and bringing out some deep treasures from the past. The treasures include gold, jewellery, old chequebooks, and passports.
Here’s why these are so valuable and important: Davido’s mother, Veronica Adeleke, died of cardiac arrest on March 6, 2003, at the young age of 39 and left a vacuum in her children’s heart.

However, one thing was conspicuously clear from the videos shared: Davido and his family have always been stupendously rich.
Sharon said her father used to own Pacific Savings and Loan, for which her mother had a chequebook. As she flipped through, she saw that her mom made a transaction of ₦70,000 in 1995, which is Nigeria’s current minimum wage in 2026.
Inside Davido’s old American passport, there was also a first-class flight ticket, proving he never had to go through the rigours of economy.

The highlight was a box full of Davido’s late mother’s jewellery; in it, you could see all manner of designer watches, chains, and earrings, but what stood out the most was her vintage Versace earrings. These stud earrings with a pendant had the logo of Versace on them, proving that wealth has always been in the family.
Additionally, it was moving how the things deceased people leave behind can bring back so many fond memories. Nigerians, on the other hand, are still befuddled by the wealth in the Adeleke family.
