Let’s begin with OBO Baddest, Chioma’s Odogwu.

In 2025, on The Breakfast Club, he announced he was a changed man, explaining that cheating was unnecessary chaos he was no longer interested in.

The American radio interview which was held after his traditional marriage to his “rock”, Chioma, was one of the most direct and reform-focused apologies. He openly said, “I said I’m not cheating again. I won’t cheat again. You no hear wetin I talk?” in English and pidgin.I said I don’t want any wahala. Cheating comes with lots of problems. I have five kids with four women.”

From that interview, Davido suggested the drama from cheating wasn’t worth it. Legit.ng also reports that he stated, “I would rather die than cheat on my wife again.”

After being romantically linked to several women over the years, Davido has five children with four different mothers.

His most prominent relationships include Sophia Momodu (mother of his first child, Imade) and a string of high-profile flings, including allegations of affairs while in an on-and-off relationship with Chioma.

He has publicly said, “I can never cheat on my wife,” often crediting her early support in his career. According to Music Base Africa, in 2024, he said, “Many think I’m a playboy, but that’s not true. I’ve never cheated on my wife since I met her. As a matter of fact, I try my best to avoid any situation that will push me to cheat… I even had to upload a photo of my wife & kid as my IG dp just to tell these ladies that I’m taken.”

Despite the rumours, he continues to defend their marriage publicly.

As for the music, Don, he has a rather realistic and honest personal view. In an interview with Nancy Isime in 2025, he explained that he doesn’t think monogamy is for him.

“I don’t think I’m built for one person,” he said. “I admire people who can love one person completely and stay committed. But for me, even when I’m in a relationship, that doesn’t stop me from admiring someone else,” he said.

“I respect those who can switch off those feelings. I’m not like that,” he confessed.

Mr Macaroni, who is known for fusing both humour and honesty, described staying faithful in marriage as “very difficult but possible”.

Daddy Wa, in a November 2024 interview on the Diary of a Naija Girl podcast, stated, “It is very difficult not to cheat in marriage.” He described staying faithful as “extremely difficult” but “possible.” He also noted that cheating is not inevitable, but the challenges of lifelong commitment make it a real struggle for many.

In an interview with Toke Makinwa, fine boy Timini noted that, from experience, more of his female friends cheat than male ones.

“Cheating is bad. I hate cheating and people who cheat. But it happens. Why do people steal even when they know that they shouldn’t steal?… The bottom line is that human needs are insatiable,” he said.

“The next person I would date would definitely enjoy, because I am done looking outside,” he added.

In a recent interview with Jay On-Air, he stressed emotional presence, communication, and listening in relationships over just money, implying these reduce relationship breakdowns.

The Nollywood actor believes in staying in a monogamous marriage even after infidelity. He advises that when a partner cheats, the first response should be empathy, not anger:

“How can I help you out of this problem?”

He describes cheating as a trap or “problem” the person is stuck in (he compared it to lying or stealing). Effiong advises the betrayed spouse to focus first on helping them overcome it before addressing the hurt and beginning healing together.

His wife, Toyosi, reinforces this by stating that cheating is not a deal breaker for her in their marriage.
