Afolabi Kazeem Micheal, popularly known as KC Luxury, was reportedly arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) over alleged links to an international cocaine trafficking network.
The Lagos socialite known for luxury cars, designer fashion and expensive jewellery has become the focus of the major investigation.
Before his arrest, KC Luxury built a strong social media following through displays of wealth and luxury lifestyle.
However, the allegations against him have now shifted public attention from his glamorous lifestyle to the source of his fortune.

KC Luxury: From flambouyant cars to social media fame
KC Luxury became a famous among followers of Nigeria’s luxury lifestyle circle. His social media pages regularly featured high-end vehicles, sparkling jewellery and designer accessories.
KC also shared videos of shopping trips to abroad. Consequently, many admirers followed his content across Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok. Some of his fans even opened fans page where his fans followed and watched videos of his exclusive lifestyle.
His garage reportedly housed several luxury vehicles, while his jewellery collections frequently attracted attention online. He shares videos of him flying private jets around the world, drinking expensive champagne among others. For years, the ‘businessman’ cultivated an image of success, exclusivity and affluence.
However, recent developments have cast that image in a different light.

NDLEA uncovers alleged international network
The controversy followed the interception of 184.5 kilograms of cocaine by the NDLEA in Lagos. Investigators alleged that the shipment was destined for the United Kingdom, Europe and parts of Asia.
The agency described the operation as its largest cocaine seizure involving a courier logistics company.
Because of the quantity involved, NDLEA chairman Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa ordered a special investigation. Reports said investigators traced several individuals allegedly connected to the international distribution network.
The seized cocaine was reportedly valued at about $28 million, equivalent to roughly ₦39 billion.
How KC Luxury was arrested
NDLEA investigators worked with the courier company’s management to trace the syndicate. Their investigation reportedly uncovered several intermediary companies and individuals. Two key suspects were subsequently arrested.
One suspect, Lawal Mujab Kehinde, worked for the logistics company involved. It was discovered that he processed shipments for the cartel and routed them overseas.

The second suspect was identified as Afolabi Kazeem Michael, popularly known as KC Luxury. The NDLEA investigators identified him as the cartel’s Nigerian coordinator while presenting himself publicly as a luxury goods dealer and social media influencer. However, investigators alleged that he operated a cocaine trafficking network behind that image.
He was arrested on Thursday, August 13, at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos while allegedly attempting to board a business-class flight to Paris.
At the point of his arrest, operatives reportedly recovered €7,750, £2,800 and ₦100,000 from him. They also recovered expensive jewellery, while a subsequent search of his Banana Island apartment uncovered exotic vehicles.
Questions surrounding a public image
This KC Luxury’s case has reignited conversations about wealth and social media influence.
Many followers had viewed KC Luxury as a successful businessman dealing in gold, jewellery and luxury goods. Now, public attention has turned to the lifestyle he showcased online and the reality on ground.
While some of the possessions displayed online were publicly associated with him, others could not be independently verified.

KC Luxury embroiled in previous controversy with Davido
This is not the first time KC Luxury has attracted public attention. In 2018, he was involved in a legal dispute with music star Davido. The disagreement centred on proceeds from jewellery reportedly sold by the singer. At the time, KC Luxury demanded ₦60 million from the award-winning artiste.
As the current investigation continues, authorities are expected to determine the full facts surrounding the allegations. For now, the socialite’s rise from luxury influencer to suspect in a major drug probe remains a story attracting widespread attention.
