Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola popularly known as Yayi, the APC governorship canidate in Ogun State visits the family of the late Taiwo Hassan Ogogo.
Yayi revealed his plan to appoint the late Taiwo Hassan Ogogo as his Special Adviser on Culture and Tourism if he becomes the governor of the state.
The politician disclosed his plan while paying condolence visit to Ogogo’s family in Ilaro, his hometown, where the actor was buried. 
Yayi explained that he admired Ogogo’s work ethic, traditional values and deep connection to Yoruba culture. He said these qualities influenced his decision to consider the late actor for the position.
“My plan was to appoint Taiwo Hassan Ogogo as my Special Adviser on Culture and Tourism. It is cabinet rank. I told God that if I become destined to become the governor of Ogun State, I would do that,” Yayi said.
He explained that he kept the plan to himself because he believed that God would make it possible.
“I kept it to my chest. I was working towards it because I believe God will do it. And the reasons are not far-fetched, by virtue of what he does as an actor. He was a traditional person and as a cultural person. He is always present when there is a masquerade festival, whenever they are dancing,” he said.

Yayi Chooses Ilaro for His Last Respect to Ogogo
Yayi also explained why he chose to visit Ogogo’s family in Ilaro rather than his residence in Ikorodu.
He said that after he returned to Nigeria, people tried to get him involved in different activities. He refused because he wanted to pay his final respect to Ogogo first.
“When I returned to the country yesterday, they tried to push me to do anything. I said I would not do anything until I see Ogogo’s family. I’m not going to talk to anybody, I’m not going to discuss politics and I’m not going to attend any meeting. This will be the first place I would come,” he said.
Yayi added that he deliberately chose Ilaro because Ogogo came from the town and the community received his remains for burial.
“I said I was not going to visit him in his Ikorodu residence. I want to visit him in Ilaro, his hometown where he was buried. He is from here, he was buried here, so I should be here. I should greet him, and this would be my last respect,” Yayi said.
Yayi’s revelation highlights the respect he had for Taiwo Hassan Ogogo’s contribution to acting, traditional values and the promotion of Yoruba culture.
