The young STEM champs, including Don Anele Munachimso Marvellous, Victor Onwubiko and Egejurum Onyedikachi, who represented the senior, junior and primary categories, each made Nigeria proud after competing with students from 154 countries of the world.
Alex Onyia and His Champs

Alex Onyia, CEO at Educare, announced his intention to fully sponsor 3 students and 2 teachers to the International STEM Olympiad in Rome, Italy.
“All visas have been issued, and all arrangements have been sorted. The students will represent Nigeria in the maths and Science categories of the International STEM Olympiad.
They will compete alongside 154 other countries.
The students who won the 2026 South East Maths Olympiad and the teachers who supported them are going. Both the teachers and the students will experience growth together,” he tweeted.

The competitions were held on Saturday, July 4, at the Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma. Onyia’s optimism about the competition was palpable as he updated Nigerians on X.
“Their assignment is simple: bring back the gold.
They will be competing with 154 other countries in Rome, Italy, this week.
Since Nigeria couldn’t qualify for the World Cup, this will be our World Cup,” he wrote.
