Funke Akindele is once again at the centre of public scrutiny. This time over a viral video that appears to show her ignoring fellow actress, Toyin Abraham.
While the moment itself remains open to interpretation, it has reignited long-standing conversations about Akindele’s relationships within the entertainment industry.
Over the years, she has been linked to several fallouts within Nollywood, including with actors and colleagues in the industry. For instance, her relationship with Yomi Fabiyi. He alleged that their relationship broke down after informing her of his house completion.

Similarly, tensions have been rumoured or alleged at various times between Akindele and figures such as Kunle Afolayan, whom she reportedly berated for accusing her of using TikTok dances to sell movies. There have also been whispers regarding former collaborators from her highly successful projects, such as her “industry son,” Tobi Makinde. Many fans noticed she was conspicuously absent from his wedding, fuelling further speculation.
She’s also reportedly not on talking terms with people such as Mercy Aigbe and Chef T(Diary of A Kitchen Lover).
What makes these situations more intriguing is that they often play out quietly. Funke rarely addresses disputes directly, which some people view as her protecting her peace.

The one time she did address her relationship with colleagues was in a 2024 interview on Arise News where she admitted that she doesn’t really maintain ‘serious friendships’ outside her family.
That statement alone offered a lens through which many now interpret her industry relationships, not necessarily as conflicts, but as boundaries.

Her Friendships
Still, she’s not completely cut off from people in the entertainment industry. She has maintained friendly ties with several colleagues.
She also shares easygoing friendship with Falz, especially following their work together on projects like Jenifa’s Diary. As well as a long standing friendship with Doris Simeon. These suggest that while she may be selective, she is not entirely someone who beefs with all her colleagues.

There’s also her friendship with Eniola Badmus over the years. Recently, a video of Funke and Eniola on a WhatsApp call circulated online further proving that both women are still best of pals.

Interestingly, Nollywood has also seen its fair share of reconciliations, and Funke is no exception. Although not all past disagreements have been publicly resolved, she is now very close to Iyabo Ojo after their fallout.
In a recent interview with Chude, Juliana Oluwatobiloba Olayode, popularly known as Toyobaby, also spoke of her reconciliation with Funke Akindele, appreciating God for how he intervened.
Final Take
In the end, the narrative around Funke Akindele seems less about constant “beef” and more about a personality that prioritises control, structure, and a tightly managed personal space. In a field where many thrive on wide social networks, her approach stands out, and that difference is often what fuels both admiration and criticism.
