Closer to home, Olugbenga “GB” Agboola, the CEO of Flutterwave, is also one of Terra’s investors. His involvement is a big deal because it shows Terra has the backing of respected players within Nigeria’s own tech space, not just attention from abroad.

Other investors in the startup are Belief Capital and Tofino Capital.

Who Are the Founders?

The company is led by two Abuja-based Nigerian youths who are barely out of university:

What Is Terra, and What Exactly Is It Building?

The company is already valued at over $100 million and claims specifically that its tech secures assets worth about $11 billion. The startup develops autonomous security drones, AI-powered sentry towers, and unmanned security vehicles.

Terra is designed to protect large-scale infrastructure projects across Africa.

Why This Matters

Its recent funding by Jared Leto is important because when players this diverse and influential align behind one company, it usually means something bigger is unfolding and that the world is paying attention.

However, Terra’s funding story isn’t just about money. It’s about global confidence in Nigerian engineering talents.
