The daughter of veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has shared their final emotional conversation.

Kira Taiwo posted the exchange on Instagram on Monday, August 24, following her father’s death. She revealed that they had spoken weeks earlier while he battled a serious illness.

In the conversation, Ogogo encouraged his daughter to remain strong for him despite his health struggles. He also urged her to trust in God and avoid crying.

Ogogo’s Emotional Message to Kira

Kira and Ogogo exchanged the messages on Sunday, July 26. At the time, the actor was receiving medical treatment. Ogogo reportedly learnt that Kira had been crying over his condition. He then sent her a heartfelt message.

“Seeing you and your sisters smile is making me strong. If you cry, it will make me sad.”

The veteran actor reassured his daughter that he remained strong. He also expressed his faith that God would heal him.

“Be strong; I am strong. Nothing is going to happen to me, insha Allah.”

Ogogo further urged Kira to trust in Allah rather than give in to fear.

“If you do, don’t cry, my princess.”

Kira Reassures Her Father

Kira responded by denying that she was crying. She also reassured her father that she trusted in God.

“Daddy, I’m not crying oo… don’t mind Haleemah. I trust in Allah, sir.”

She then expressed her deep love for her father.

Ogogo responded warmly, writing, “Love u too, my princess.”

The exchange has since taken on greater emotional significance following the actor’s death.

Kira previously spoke publicly about her father’s health alongside her sister, Lima. They revealed that Ogogo was battling stage-four cancer. The sisters also appealed for prayers and suggestions for better medical care for their father.

Ogogo’s Remains Arrive in Ilaro

Meanwhile, Ogogo’s remains have arrived at the Ilaro Central Mosque in Ogun State.

The body reportedly arrived around 10pm on Sunday, August 23, in a Siena vehicle, hours after his death. Family members, Islamic leaders and sympathisers gathered to receive him.

The Chief Imam of Ilaro announced that Ogogo would be buried at 10am on Monday. The burial will follow Islamic rites.

Ogogo, an indigene of Ilaro, built a remarkable career in Yoruba film industry and Nollywood.

His work helped preserve Yoruba culture through film and stage performances. His death has therefore sparked an outpouring of grief from fans and colleagues.
