A Nigerian woman identified as Maryam has publicly accused Nollywood actress Irewole Olaniyan of allegedly having an affair with her husband for three years.
Maryam made the allegation in a lengthy social media post, claiming that the actress maintained a relationship with her husband despite knowing he was married.
The allegations have sparked reactions online, with social media users discussing the claims and the actress’ reported response. 
Woman Claims Irewole Olaniyan Knew Her Husband Was Married
According to Maryam, she previously confronted Olaniyan privately after learning about the alleged relationship. She claimed the actress initially told her that she did not know the man was married. Maryam said she accepted the explanation and decided to let the matter go. However, she alleged that the relationship continued afterwards.
Maryam further claimed that her husband supported Olaniyan’s movie productions, trips and lifestyle during the alleged relationship. She specifically alleged that he funded or supported a trip to South Africa in September 2024.
Maryam also accused the actress of contacting her husband through different phone numbers and allegedly asking him for money.

Maryam Shares Alleged Private Conversation With Irewole
As part of her social media post, Maryam shared screenshots of an alleged private conversation between herself and Olaniyan.
In the exchange, a message attributed to the actress appeared to suggest that she had ended the relationship with Maryam’s husband long ago. The alleged message also accused Maryam of trying to damage the actress’ reputation.
Olaniyan was further quoted in the exchange as warning Maryam that she would “see my handwork” after the woman threatened to continue mentioning her name in connection with the matter.
However, the authenticity of the screenshots has not been independently verified. The claims contained in the alleged conversation also remain unverified.
Actress Irewole Olaniyan Responds to Allegations
The Nollywood actress has responded to the allegations levelled against her by Maryam, a married women who claimed the actress was in a relationship with her husband.
She accepted that she knows the man in question but denied ever dating him. She also acknowledged that she was not aware that he was married.
Irewole agreed to hanging out with the man but noted that he is not her type.
