Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, is reportedly battling stage four cancer. His daughter, Kira, disclosed the development in an emotional video shared on social media on Monday, August 17.
She appealed for medical guidance rather than financial assistance. Meanwhile, the family remains hopeful about finding effective treatment.
Kira Breaks Down Over Father’s Condition
According to Kira, doctors diagnosed Ogogo with stage four cancer. She said medical experts advised against chemotherapy because of his deteriorating condition. The actor has reportedly suffered severe pain, while his stomach has become noticeably swollen.
Speaking through tears, Kira said she could not bear losing her father.
“I have never seen my dad in that kind of pain before,” she said.
She also revealed that Ogogo has been emotional about his condition. According to her, the actor has repeatedly said he does not want to die yet.
However, Kira stressed that the family is not asking Nigerians for money. Instead, she appealed for information about reputable hospitals and proven medical facilities.

Family Seeks Specialist Treatment for Ogogo
Kira urged anyone with information about cancer treatment centres to contact her or her sister, Lima. She also asked people with knowledge of established orthodox treatment options to reach out. Additionally, she made the actor’s contact available for anyone with useful medical information.
The family has already received support during the difficult period. Kira specifically acknowledged Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, for his assistance. She said the senator had provided financial support and remained helpful to the family.
Nevertheless, the family continues to search for specialist medical intervention.

Ogogo’s Previous Health Battle
Ogogo previously faced a serious health crisis in 2004. The illness reportedly began during the Ramadan fasting period. At the time, rumours linked his condition to alleged illicit drug ingestion. However, doctors eventually diagnosed him with a severe ulcer.
The condition had reportedly damaged his intestines significantly. Ogogo later revealed that he vomited blood during the ordeal. He could barely eat and reportedly survived mainly on pap for a period. His recovery took several years and required prolonged treatment. Eventually, he regained his health and returned to acting.
Now, his family faces another difficult chapter. Kira’s emotional appeal has sparked concern among fans and colleagues. However, the family continues to seek expert medical guidance and possible treatment options.
