Exactly 10 years after they first met at a Gucci store in Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez tied the knot in an unexpectedly intimate ceremony.
On August 11, 2026, the couple said “I do” in the living room of their new summer house in Cascais, Portugal. The “perfect” summer house took seven years to build. Yet, their wedding was neither a grand castle affair nor a lavish celebration filled with guests from around the world.
Instead, Ronaldo and Rodríguez chose an intimate gathering with their five children. Their decision marked a deliberate departure from the fairytale wedding Georgina once imagined. 
“When I was a little girl, I dreamt of the biggest castle, the biggest carriage, the longest dress, a crown full of diamonds,” she said.
“And now I’m saying: no. I want something intimate, with my partner and our children, at home.”
She explained that they already have many of the things she once dreamed about. For her, a smaller wedding would create a more meaningful memory for their children. She wanted them to look back and remember that something beautiful happened at home.

Their Wedding Clothes: Custom Gucci
Their love story began at a Gucci store, making the brand a fitting choice for their wedding. Gucci’s artistic director, Demna, designed the couple’s wedding looks.
Rodríguez wore a white silk faille skirt suit with matching satin shoes. The shoes featured Gucci’s signature silver horsebit detail. There was no traditional couture ball gown, veil or outfit change. Instead, Rodríguez chose a look that reflected the simplicity and intimacy she wanted for the ceremony.
“I’m not doing costumes for a day that is meant to be simple and true to our real life as a family,” her choice appeared to convey.
Ronaldo opted for a custom light beige cotton suit with matching custom loafers. Their children also wore coordinated Gucci outfits. The boys matched their father with similar shoes, while the girls wore beige and white footwear.
Demna described Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina’s private wedding as “a beautiful circle closing, almost like a modern fairy tale.”
The prices of the custom outfits have not been disclosed. However, pieces of this level of craftsmanship can cost several thousand dollars or more.
The Loud Sparkles That Did the Talking
Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina’s private wedding itself embraced understated luxury, Rodríguez’s jewellery delivered the drama. She wore a standout piece from Chopard’s Garden of Kalahari high-jewellery collection. The necklace centres on a 50-carat, D-flawless, brilliant-cut diamond. The stone came from the same 342-carat rough that produced the Queen of Kalahari diamond.
Rodríguez has also been photographed wearing pieces from the collection while working out and relaxing by the pool. Her collection includes a striking diamond bracelet from the same range.
Her engagement ring has been estimated at between $1.5 million and $5 million. Wedding bands have also been estimated at roughly $1,300 to $3,400 each.
The Garden of Kalahari necklace, however, belongs to an entirely different league.
A Wedding That Matched Their Life
Industry reports have previously placed the complete necklace set at around $50 million. The exact price remains undisclosed and would typically be available only on request.
The contrast between Rodríguez’s wedding and her jewellery captured the essence of the celebration.
