In August 2025, reality star Phyna lost her sister in a terrible accident after a Dangote truck hit her near Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State. The accident caused severe injuries, including the amputation of one of her legs, before she passed on.
Before her sister died, Phyna reached out to social commentator VeryDarkMan, popularly known as VDM, for help because they were friends.
After some time, VDM publicly withdrew from the case and accused Phyna of showing more interest in the financial support and donations connected to the situation than focusing on her sister’s treatment and wellbeing. Phyna later denied the accusation, insisting that she genuinely wanted help for her sister and that VDM’s claims against her were false.
Months later, just a few days before her late sister’s birthday in 2026, Phyna shared an emotional video online. In the video, she prayed that nobody the public trusts should ever lie against another person. Many people believed she directed the message at VDM.
The situation later became more serious after Phyna said that VDM wanted to sleep with her, but she rejected him. According to her, this affected how things played out between them.
VDM responded with a video saying he wanted to focus more on the insecurity situation in Nigeria instead of going back and forth with Phyna online.

He denied ever asking to sleep with her. He also said that even if he had expressed interest in her, both of them were adults and nothing would be wrong with seeking consent. However, he maintained that he never made such statements.
He told people not to defend him because he is not a saint, but he insisted that Phyna should provide evidence for her claims.
Phyna then released screenshots of chats between herself and VDM. In the conversations, VDM admitted that he felt sexually attracted to her, while also saying that if anything happened between them, fine, and if it did not, he also had no issue with it.

Phyna also claimed that she and VDM had many of their conversations over phone calls and said she wished she had recorded some of them.
VDM responded to Phyna’s screenshots with a video, saying that if he truly wanted a relationship with Phyna, he would have openly told her. He described himself as an “alpha dominant sexual male” and claimed he had girlfriends ranging from 23 to 52 years old.
VDM also said that one of his girlfriends sends him ₦2 million weekly for upkeep. He stated that what annoyed him most was that he never had a sexual relationship with Phyna.
As of now, the drama continues to generate conversations on social media as many await further responses from both sides.
