Nollywood’s most talked-about actress, Tonto Dikeh has once again dominated headlines, but this time for a personal testimony rather than another online scandal.
Over the years, Tonto has courted controversy and kept her name trending. She has jumped into messy social media feuds, relationship drama, and public fallouts with colleagues, rarely staying out of the spotlight.
But during a recent service at Streams of Joy International Church, the actress stunned many as she openly shared a testimony of deliverance from years of addiction and inner turmoil.
She openly shared the struggles she battled for decades before experiencing what she described as divine deliverance and spiritual transformation.
The church broadcast the testimony during its New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD) service on Monday, December 12.

Here Are The Highlights:
“I Smoked Since I Was 13”

Standing before the congregation, Dikeh disclosed that her smoking habit lasted for about 27 years, alongside struggles with alcohol, anger, and masturbation.
“I smoked since I was 13. God healed me from masturbation, too.”
Dikeh traced the start of her smoking habit to early exposure at home and used her testimony to caution parents.
“I started smoking because my dad was a smoker. Something as little as that habit can inhabit the lives of your children.”
According to the actress, a major shift happened after attending the NSPPD prayer meeting in Ghana, where she felt a long-standing spiritual burden lift.
“An Anger That Destroyed My Life”
Beyond addiction, Dikeh spoke candidly about prolonged anger issues that affected her relationships and personal peace.
“An anger that destroyed my life. Everybody had to feel it.
But praying with NSPPD, God took all of those away and gave me peace.”
She described peace as something she had never truly experienced, until now.
“I am 40 years old, and I can tell you I have never known peace until now. I am living in it.”
On Alcohol: “Two Big Bottles of Vodka a Day”

Dikeh also opened up about her long-standing struggle with alcohol, revealing that drinking had become a daily routine at some point in her life.
She disclosed that she was used to taking two big bottles of vodka daily, describing it as a habit she could not easily control.
According to her, the addiction eventually lost its grip after intense prayers and spiritual encounters.
Dikeh admitted that she nearly withdrew from sharing the testimony due to fear of public judgment and concern for her image as a celebrity.
“The devil tried to tell me that I was supposed to protect my image. But I told myself, what image? The God that gave me the image is the same God that can take it away.”
After the testimony, Pastor Jerry Eze prayed for the actress, declaring that “the body of sin is broken” and describing her as “a voice in her generation.”
