Claims that Bella Shmurda lost $4 million to a real estate scam now appear to be false.
A viral post making the rounds on social media alleges that the Nigerian singer broke down in tears during a live session after discovering that a $4 million Lagos property he’d paid for belonged to someone else entirely. The claim seems not to be true.

The post claimed that Bella Shmurda said:
“Nigeria, I need your help. I’m not doing okay right now. I spent $4 million of my own hard-earned money, only to find out I bought a stolen property. And now the seller has disappeared.”
The claim quickly gained attention online, with many fans expressing concern and sharing the video across different social media platforms. According to TheCable, a source close to Bella Shmurda dismissed the report and clarified that the video is old and the claim is misleading.
According to the source, the clip was recorded in 2023 during an Instagram Live session following the death of singer Mohbad. The source explained that the video has no connection to any property transaction or real estate dispute.
“It’s fake news. We do not know where the agenda came from. That video is from 2023,” A source close to the singer reportedly clarified that.
The source also stated that the emotional moment captured in the video was linked to the period following Mohbad’s death and not to any issue involving a house purchase.
The clarification means there is no evidence that the singer lost $4 million in a fake property deal, contrary to claims circulating on social media.
