Pastor Jimmy Odukoya, Senior Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, introduced his new wife, Pastor Mo Odukoya, to his congregation on Sunday, November 1.

He formally welcomed her as the church’s new First Lady during a service in Ilupeju, Lagos. The introduction followed a social media post showing two hands wearing wedding rings, which had sparked speculation about his relationship status.

The announcement has attracted attention from members of the Christian community, with many congratulating the couple and praying for their marriage.

Beyond their new union, Jimmy and Mo share several interests and experiences. NBG Africa put together five things they have in common.

1. They Both Come From Pastoral Families

Jimmy and Mo grew up in families with strong Christian ministry backgrounds.

Mo is the daughter of Reverend Theophilus and Bolaji Daniel. Her family background connects her to the Christian ministry environment. Similarly, Jimmy is the son of the late Pastor Taiwo Odukoya and the late Pastor Bimbo Odukoya, who founded The Fountain of Life Church.

Growing up with parents involved in ministry gave both of them early exposure to church life and Christian leadership. Their family backgrounds also add context to their roles in the Christian community.

2. They Were Both Previously Married

Before their marriage, Jimmy and Mo had each been married to other people.

Jimmy was previously married to Oluwakemi Banjoko. They got married in London in March 2013, but their marriage later ended in divorce. They share two children. Mo was previously married to British-Nigerian music producer and singer Mosadoluwa Adegboye, popularly known as itsMOSA.

Both Jimmy and Mo have therefore experienced marriage before finding love again.

3. They Both Have Creative Interests

Although they work in different creative fields, Pastor Jimmy and Mo Odukoya share an interest in the arts.

Mo is a media consultant, author, designer and creative entrepreneur. Her work combines creativity, communication and ministry. She has also developed projects that use media and creative platforms to encourage people to understand their identity and purpose.

Jimmy, on the other hand, has built a career in entertainment alongside his pastoral work. He is an actor who has appeared in film and television productions. His experience in the entertainment industry gives him a creative identity beyond his responsibilities as a pastor.

Their different creative interests provide another connection between the couple.

4. They Were Both Involved in Ministry Before Their Marriage

Jimmy and Mo had established their respective ministry interests before they became husband and wife.

Jimmy’s involvement in church leadership began long before his recent marriage. His father ordained him as a pastor in 2009. In 2012, he was ordained within The Fountain of Life Church and served as its youth pastor until 2021. He also launched The CAVE in 2019. The initiative was designed to engage younger people and present faith through contemporary expressions.

Mo’s ministry focuses on helping people understand their God-given identity and lead with courage and love. Her work combines biblical teaching, media and leadership development to encourage people to live purposefully and authentically. She also hosts the Recalibrate With Pastor MO events and runs a virtual book club called BookMark.

Their ministry interests show that both had developed a commitment to Christian service before their marriage.

5. They Are Both Manchester United Supporters

Away from church activities and their professional commitments, Jimmy and Mo share a passion for football.

Both support Manchester United, one of England’s most recognised football clubs. Jimmy has reportedly supported the club for more than two decades. Mo is also described as a Manchester United fan.

Their shared interest offers a lighter connection outside their work in ministry. For the couple, supporting the same football club is another common ground as they begin their life together.

As Jimmy and Mo begin this new chapter, their shared experiences extend beyond their pastoral backgrounds. They have both experienced previous marriages, pursued creative interests, supported the same football club and built individual ministries. While their journeys have taken different paths, these common interests provid
