Nigerian prophet Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has issued a chilling prophecy that a sitting president somewhere in the world will die before 2027.
During a recent sermon, the cleric declared, “I don’t know, between now to 2027, a sitting president is passing away.”
However, he did not mention any specific president or country, leaving the prophecy open to interpretation.
Will This Prophecy Come to Pass?
Primate Elijah Ayodele remains one of Nigeria’s most talked-about prophets. Many dismiss his prophecies as vague or calculated guesses. However, his supporters point to a long list of predictions they believe have come true.
Here are two notable recent examples:
1. He Predicted the Removal of Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police
In April 2025, Ayodele publicly warned the then-Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to seek divine guidance or risk removal from office.
On the 25th of February, 2026, Primate Ayodele, in a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, made it known that there will be changes of service chiefs and the IGP will be changed before the end of 2026.
“The spirit of the Lord revealed to me that the Inspector General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, …will be removed from office before the end of the year.”
In a shocking move, a few hours after the prophet made this prophecy, news started making rounds that the IGP had been removed and replaced with Tunji Disu.

2. He Predicted the Death of a Nigerian Governor
In his 2024 prophecy booklet, Ayodele warned Nigeria’s Governors Forum to pray against bereavement. He specifically said: “Let us pray fervently so that the Governors Forum will not be bereaved.”
Just five days after he released the booklet, Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu was pronounced dead. The timing was shocking and added significant weight to his prophetic track record.
The latest prophecy about a sitting president dying before 2027 has naturally sparked concern and now joins a long list of his high-profile prophecies.
Whether it would happen or not remains to be seen.
