As earlier reported by NBG Africa, videos involving Ghanaian actress and fashion personality Nana Akua Addo circulated online. The videos has now prompted separate statements from Lawyers representing Addo and her husband.
The posts showed clips that appeared to show Addo receiving medical attention with visible injuries. A separate video allegedly showed a teenage girl being slapped during an altercation. Another clip purportedly showed a man being led away in handcuffs.
Nana Akua Ado’s Husband Releases Official statement
The legal team of Nana Akua Ado’s husband, Harold Duodu Norman, denied him assaulting his wife. The lawyers denied that he assaulted her. They said the lip injury seen in the circulating footage dates back to 2021. They alleged that Addo confronted Norman over suspected infidelity and tried to stab him during the argument. 
According to the legal team’s account, Norman used a dressing mirror to protect himself. They said the knife struck the mirror and broke it. A shard from the broken mirror allegedly hit Addo’s lip. The lawyers rejected the claim that Norman caused the injury through an assault.
The statement referred to an investigation by Ghana’s Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit, known as DOVVSU. It also mentioned an ongoing civil case. The lawyers cited Rosemond Akua Adobea vrs Harold Duodu Norman, Suit No. DM/0607/2026. They urged media organisations and commentators to exercise caution while the proceedings continue.
The legal team made further claims about previous incidents in the marriage.The lawyers said Norman would limit his public response because the matter is before the authorities and the court.
The Actress Legal Team Drops Statement
Addo’s lawyers, Nkrabeah & Associates, issued a separate response. They asked media organisations and the public to stop publishing or sharing the videos. They made particular reference to footage involving a minor.
The lawyers said the videos were circulated without Addo’s knowledge or consent. They asked the public to respect her privacy and that of her children. They also said the appropriate authorities had taken charge of the matter.
Their response did not provide a detailed account of the alleged incident. It focused on privacy, child protection and the need to allow the official process to continue.
Both statements came through lawyers rather than detailed personal interviews. The competing accounts remain unverified. No official police statement had confirmed an assault, an arrest or any charge when the legal responses emerged.
