Nosa Afolabi, popularly known as Lasisi Elenu, a Nigerian comedian and actor, has sent a strong message to the President of Nigeria, the Governor of Lagos State and other state governors over the country’s healthcare system.
In a recent video he posted on his social media platforms, Lasisi Elenu expressed concern over how the poor state of healthcare in Nigeria has affected the lives of citizens. He recounted several cases where patients could not receive medical attention because public hospitals had no available bed spaces for doctors to attend to them.
Lasisi also spoke about the number of medical practitioners who have left Nigeria because the government has failed to meet their needs and the country’s healthcare system continues to struggle. He appealed to the President of Nigeria to address the situation and ensure that the healthcare sector functions properly. 
He said:
“It’s highly concerning and disturbing that the heath care system in Nigeria is by several miles, so many miles in disgust utter disgust. He said it is nothing is being done about it. I don’t know what else needs to happen before there need to be a total shift and turn around in the healthcare and the medical system in Nigeria but enough is enough”

Lasisi Elenu Decries Nigeria’s Failing Healthcare System
The comedian further described the state of healthcare in Nigeria as shameful and disturbing, while expressing concern over the value placed on human lives in the country.
He said:
“It’s shameful, it’s sad and disturbing that Nigeria in 2026 has one of if not one of the most terrible healthcare I have witnessed over and over again and lives do not matter in Nigeria and this is heartbreaking”
Comedian Raises Concern Over Lack of Bed Spaces
Lasisi continued by questioning why Nigerians still struggle to access medical treatment when they need it, particularly at a time when many doctors continue to leave the country.
He said:
“Make it make sense that in 2026 a common man that needs medical attention cannot be taken to a hospital. And make it make sense to me why people do not have hope in the medical systemin this country, doctors on a daily basis are migrating in numbers out of this country because thay can clearly see that there is no future in this country here in Nigeria”
He added that he had witnessed several situations in Nigeria that he found deeply upsetting.
Lasisi Elenu Appeals to Government to Act
The comedian also questioned why Nigerians who require urgent medical attention sometimes struggle to receive treatment at federal government hospitals because of a lack of bed spaces.
He said: “I do not know why in 2026, in a country called Nigeria, someone who needs urgent medical attention would go to a federal government hospital and that person would be reused treatment on the premise of no bed space”.
Lasisi Elenu’s message highlights the urgent need for the government to pay greater attention to Nigeria’s healthcare system. From the lack of bed spaces in public hospitals to the continued migration of medical practitioners. He believes Nigerians deserve a healthcare system they can trust when they need medical attention. His appeal to President Tinubu and the 36 governors is for them to take action and address the problems affecting the sector before more lives suffer because people cannot access the treatment they need.
