Nigerian entrepreneur, Femi Otedola is the 22nd richest businessman in Africa according to Forbes. He has built his wealth in the oil, energy, and power sectors and is also an author.

Beyond business, he is widely recognised for his philanthropy and high-profile lifestyle, as well as his influence in banking and corporate governance, including his role as Chairman of First Bank of Nigeria Holdings.

Otedola represents a classic model of Nigerian wealth with bold risk-taking, strategic exits, and reinvention across industries.

Otedola has four children from different mothers. Interestingly, they all have built careers outside Femi Otedola’s core.

Here’s what you should know about his baby mama, wife and children, who they are and their careers.

According to a Daily Post interview with Olayinka in 2012, Femi Otedola had gotten her pregnant when he was selling stationery at Iponri area of Lagos, and the result of that effort is his first child, Christie Tolani Otedola.

She was newly out of secondary school then and was admitted into a nursing programme. She began a relationship with Femi and became pregnant at 21.

Though he initially accepted responsibility, he hid and denied it to his parents until his father intervened. His family later acknowledged the child and held a naming ceremony.

Femi’s mother, however, opposed their relationship and marriage. After a second pregnancy ended in a traumatic stillbirth, which Femi also denied, his mother became openly hostile.

When their daughter was about two, she was taken to live with Femi’s family for schooling, after which she was denied access to her.

Nana Otedola is Otedola’s wife and mother to three of his children.  They got married on September 12, 1992, in Lagos.

She is a Nigerian entrepreneur who founded Garment Care Limited in 1999. Nana has since transformed it into Nigeria’s premier dry-cleaning and laundry service using European standards and sustainable practices.

Nana Otedola built the business independently for over 25 years into Africa’s top garment care provider, with branches in upscale Lagos areas and a focus on staff welfare, training hundreds and influencing the industry nationwide.

She has done all these without relying on her husband, Femi Otedola’s wealth.

She leads a low-profile, luxurious life across Lagos, London, and Dubai, emphasising family, faith, and fashion.

Femi Otedola’s firstborn, Christie Tolani Otedola, was born to him on April 21, 1986, from his previous relationship with Olayinka Odukoya. You’d rarely find her ‘outside’ like her other two sisters. Most of the time, she’s outside because they are, or because it’s a family function.

She started singing in church and school choirs before she moved into music on a professional level as a singer-songwriter. Tolani has since focused on soulful, mainstream pop and more introspective sounds that appeal to a niche audience.

She stands as proof that a rich man’s child can decide to do art and be judged by their works, not their surname.

Florence ‘DJ Cuppy Ifeoluwa Otedola is arguably the most commercially visible of the four. Cuppy was born on November 11, 1992, to Femi and Nana.  Somehow, she has managed to successfully blend entertainment, business, and philanthropy into a personal brand that extends far beyond Africa.

Cuppy closely mirrors her father’s entrepreneurial mindset, but in the creative and social sector, unlike her father, who is in the oil, energy, and power sector. She sits in her father’s boardrooms and often represents him at meetings and events. Cuppy learns at close quarters how deals are structured and how capital moves. She also understands how legacy is negotiated in boardrooms just as it is within families.

Florence earned an MSc in African Studies at Oxford University. The choice signals a mind concerned with the continent’s deeper stories, not just its playlists.

Apart from building a global personal brand and making UN appearances, she runs her own music company. She also owns a charity foundation, Cuppy Foundation. The foundation has raised billions of naira to support scholarships and education for African students.

In Florence, you see a modern African daughter: one ear on the mix, one eye on the spreadsheet, one foot in Lagos and the other in London.

She began with JTO (Just Temi Otedola) Fashion, a blog she launched in 2014. The blog grew into a universe of style, travel, and beauty, which made her into a fashion and lifestyle influencer long before “content creator” became a job description many Africans claimed.

Temi soon stepped into acting with her debut appearance in Citation(2020) played the role of Moremi Oluwa, the lead character. It was obvious she didn’t just appear as a “billionaire’s daughter cameo,” she has also appeared in other movies like The Man for the Job(2022), Ms. Kanyin(2025), and Motherland the Musical ( a Stage Play).

Femi Otedola’s last child and only son, Fewa, was born on June 2, 2000, to Femi and Nana. Unlike his sisters, whose lives spill daily onto social media timelines, Fewa walks in greater privacy and with little public involvement in business and media.

Public reports have noted that he lives with a developmental condition, autism spectrum disorder, and his family’s posture has been one of protection, affection, and dignity rather than spectacle.
