What’s Going On Between DJ Tunez, Burna Boy, Wizkid and Nigerian DJs

It doesn’t look like African Giant is a bigger person.

Recently, Burna Boy and DJ Tunez (aka Ogbafia) were at a private event in Lagos, popularly known as Obi’s House

DJ Tunez was reportedly performing when Burna Boy walked in and joined the crowd. Later during the event, an altercation occurred where the African Giant, Burna Boy, reportedly attacked DJ Tunez from behind.

Eyewitnesses online say that a disagreement escalated into a confrontation, and Burna Boy and his entourage pounced on DJ Tunez.

DJ Tunez took to his social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), to explain what led to the confrontation. He claimed he was attacked by 10 men.

In his words, he accused Burna Boy of hitting him from behind, calling it a weak move, and said he still stood his ground despite being outnumbered, adding that he fought back in self-defense.

“OGBAFIA NUMBER 1 DON WAKE OOO! THIS N*GGA BURNA BOY! ALL SIGNS OF WEAKNESS! FIRST OFF ….. YOU HIT ME IN THE BACK OF MY HEAD WITHOUT ME LOOKING! THATS SOME SUCKA SH*T MY BOY! 1 VS 10 AND I STOOD MY GROUND. THAT’S WHY YOU COLLECTED AS WELL, WHEN I DEFENDED MYSELF,” he wrote in four different tweets.

Burna Boy Vs Nigerian DJs

The Nigerian DJ Association expressed support for DJ Tunez and urged its members to stay professional and remain alert while performing at events.

In addition, the NDJ has directed DJs across the country to pause playing songs by Burna Boy until further notice.

“Burna Boy’s music is temporarily out of any of our DJs’ playlists till further notice. Our team will conduct a thorough investigation into the incident that occurred involving one of our own, DJ Tunez,” the statement read.

The DJ Tunez and Burna Boy controversy doesn’t look like it’s dying down soon, as a video showing Burna Boy dancing in a towel to DJ Tunez’s song “Money Constant” is circulating online. The video shows the African Giant lying on the floor in mockery of DJTunez, saying, “Ogbafia dey for ground.”

Wizkid spoke out, condemning Burna’s action. He wrote: “P*ssy n*gga Jump a dj with 10man carry diddy towel Dey dance. (Laughing emoji) I never see fool like this diddy babe for my life (laughing emojis).” Ogbafia is Wizkid’s official DJ, and it’s not exactly a surprise that he spoke out on the DJ Tunez and Burna Boy controversy.

So far, neither Burna Boy nor his team has opened up about the fracas.
