Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has officially placed his three daughters in key executive positions across the Dangote Group.
The billionaire industrialist has appointed his daughters to major executive roles within the Dangote Group, strengthening what many are calling a clear succession plan as the company pushes toward its Vision 2030 goals.

2. Fatima Dangote

The billionaire appointed his third daughter, Fatima Dangote, as the new Group Executive Director of Commercial Operations for Oil & Gas. She will provide commercial leadership across the Group’s energy businesses, including the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, fertiliser operations, and upstream oil exploration.
She also continues to oversee Corporate Communications, Administration & Facilities, and Group Procurement. This new position places her at the heart of the company’s energy engine.
3. Mariya Dangote

The first daughter of the billionaire now takes on the role of Group Executive Director, Commercial Operations for Cement & Foods Businesses. She will lead the commercial strategy for both Dangote Cement and the food business across all markets, focusing on expanding market reach, strengthening customer value, and driving growth across the group’s consumer-facing sectors.
According to the company, these appointments reflect a strong commitment to succession, sustainability, and stewardship.
“Please join me in congratulating Mariya and Fatima as they step confidently into these expanded roles in service of our group and the continent,”
“These appointments reflect our deep commitment to succession, sustainability, and stewardship, and to ensuring that the next generation of Dangote leadership is empowered to carry forward the legacy, while driving the innovation and scale needed for our Vision 2030 aspiration,” a note from Dangote to THISDAY disclosed.
As the Dangote Group works toward its ambition of becoming a $100 billion enterprise by 2030, the appointment of his daughters is proof that his plan to strengthen leadership and empower the next generation has clearly become a priority.
This is a clear signal that the Dangote legacy is being structured to outlive its founder, with the next generation already firmly at the table.
