Isabel Rose, a British woman from Hackney, East London, was found guilty of blackmail and perverting the course of justice for demanding £100,000 from the man she accused.
The 26-year-old was found guilty after a six-day trial in March, which revealed her twisted plot.
According to a report, Rose flew to Hong Kong in 2024 to meet the man she accused, known as X at the trial, whom she had met while travelling in Thailand. 
Rose and the accused spent the night of February 1 together, She falsely reported that she had been sexually assaulted in the days that followed,which was a consensual act between the pair.
The unnamed person was reportedly freed without being charged, despite having been arrested at first.
Rose was accused of one count of perverting the course of justice and one count of blackmail.

According to the court, the two had “engaged in consensual intimate acts” that evening. A medical examination performed at the time “could not confirm or disprove whether sexual intercourse had taken place.”
Rose asked him for £5,000 a few days after the alleged assault, and he sent it. Later, she demanded £100,000 and threatened to call the police if he didn’t send the money.
Rose’s attorney argued for leniency during the trial because she had no criminal history and was a foreign national.
Judge Ching, however, dismissed the argument, stating that it was “crystal clear” that she had made the money demand.
She called the British witness “dishonest, uncredible, and unreliable,” while X was described as “honest, credible, and reliable.”
She was sentenced to three years for perverting justice and five years for blackmail. A total of six years in prison will result from serving one year consecutively.
Rose was sent to Tai Lam Correctional Institution, the oldest maximum-security women’s prison in Hong Kong, following the trial.
Rose has been unable to leave or work in Hong Kong for the past two years prior to her trial.
