TikTok monetisation means content creators in the country can now earn directly from their accounts via the “Creator Rewards Programme”.
This means they don’t need foreign profiles to access income features. Instead of relying on brand deals alone and using foreign accounts, influencers are able to access TikTok’s in-app earning features like gifts.
This usually spurs content creators to create more content and even quit their day jobs to become full-time content creators. In many Western countries, TikTok pays content creators massively, but many African countries do not get rewarded.
