The Nigerian film industry continues its streak of cultural epics with the upcoming release of ‘Segilola (The Villain)‘.
Set against the rich, textured backdrop of precolonial Nigeria. This cinematic journey is scheduled for a nationwide premiere on May 1.
Produced by Fmdestiny Productions and directed by the veteran Muhydeen S. Ayinde, the film explores the intersection of personal vendettas and communal peace. The narrative follows Segilola, a formidable woman fuelled by a relentless desire for revenge against a wealthy, influential man.
However, her singular quest for justice threatens to unravel the very fabric of her community, posing the question: at what cost does one seek retribution?
The production boasts a powerhouse, star-studded cast, featuring industry titans such as the following:
Ibrahim Chatta, Odunlade Adekola, Bimbo Akintola, Fathia Balogun, Abolore Akande (9ice), Peter Fatomilola, and many others.
Adding a layer of intrigue to the production is the lead actress and screenwriter, Funmilayo Omikunle, who transitioned from a retired educator to the big screens. Segilola promises to be a must-watch in cinemas nationwide.
