It seems that 2026 has ushered in a season of judgement for unfaithful married men.
It is not a coincidence that not just one, but two of Nigeria’s most prominent pastors have publicly issued stern warnings, urging married men to steer clear of extramarital affairs.
Both spiritual leaders emphasised that engaging in infidelity this year could invite severe personal, social, and even divine consequences, making it clear that cheating is a risk no one should take in 2026.

Nathaniel Bassey: “Your Shame Will Be Public”

Popular gospel singer and pastor Nathaniel Bassey sparked a debate after a video of his sermon went viral a few days ago. Speaking to a congregation, he cautioned married men who deceive young women and engage in secret relationships.
According to Bassey, such actions would not go unpunished. He warned that disgrace and exposure, including on social media, would follow men who lie about their marital status or take women to hotels under false pretences.
He stressed that his message was not a joke and insisted that consequences would be severe.
“You are a married man, and you go about deceiving young girls, leading them on. Some even go as far as sleeping with them. I place a demand on the grace of God upon my life. If you try it this year, you won’t survive.”
In addition, Bassey addressed young women who knowingly date married men. He attributed such relationships to greed and material desires, warning that designer items or financial gain would not protect anyone from the fallout.
Overall, he urged both men and women to act with integrity and uphold moral values in their relationships.

Daniel Olukoya: “A Tragic Year for Unfaithful Married Ones”

Similarly, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, issued a stern warning during the church’s crossover service into 2026.
While sharing his prophetic outlook for the year, Olukoya described 2026 as fast, demanding, and spiritually intense.
More importantly, he stated that betrayal and moral compromise would attract divine judgement.
He described 2026 as “a tragic year for unfaithful married ones,” adding that the year would bring good surprises for the righteous and bad outcomes for the unrighteous.
Taken together, the warnings from Nathaniel Bassey and Daniel Olukoya send a clear message. They are calling for faithfulness in marriage and personal accountability and dire consequences for anyone who refuses to heed.
A word is enough for the wise.
