Former president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Dr Emeka Rollas, has publicly apologised to actress Regina Daniels, Senator Ned Nwoko, Rita Daniels and several Nollywood colleagues over comments he made during Regina and Ned’s highly publicised marital dispute in 2025.

Rollas shared the apology on social media, where he reflected on the controversy. He admitted that he mishandled the situation despite believing in the concerns he raised at the time.

The AGN president acknowledged that he made the statements during a period of intense pressure on the guild and its leadership. He said he now regrets the timing, platform and manner in which he addressed the issues publicly.

According to Rollas, he had professional and personal relationships with many of the people involved. Therefore, he should not have spoken out while the Daniels family faced a difficult and deeply personal situation.

He said a recent encounter with Rita Daniels prompted him to reflect further on his actions and encouraged him to seek reconciliation.

Rollas offered an unreserved apology to Rita Daniels and her family, Senator Ned Nwoko, Regina Daniels, members of the AGN Board of Trustees and several Nollywood veterans. They include Okey Bakassi, Charles Inojie, Chinyere Wilfred, Prince Jide Kosoko, Sanni Danji, Agility and Nazareth Jesse.

He accepted responsibility for his actions and stated that leadership requires humility as much as courage. While he maintained that he still holds some of the views he expressed during the dispute, he admitted that he could have handled the matter differently.

The former AGN president said he now chooses peace, reconciliation, dignity and respect as he moves forward and described his public apology as the result of personal reflection.

How the Feud Between Rollas and Regina Daniels Began

The dispute between Rollas and the Daniels family erupted in late 2025. This was after the AGN president publicly commented on Regina Daniels’ marital challenges with Senator Ned Nwoko.

At the time, Rollas claimed Regina needed support and alleged that some Nollywood veterans had witnessed incidents involving substance abuse on film sets. He also criticised Rita Daniels, accusing her of focusing on AGN politics instead of her daughter’s wellbeing.

Regina Daniels swiftly responded through her Instagram Stories. She described Rollas as a disgrace to the guild’s leadership. She denied his claims and accused him of financial misconduct and ingratitude.

The actress also alleged that Rollas previously brought women to her family home for swimming lessons. She claimed their relationship deteriorated after she challenged his actions.

The exchange generated widespread reactions across the entertainment industry and social media, particularly because it coincided with public scrutiny surrounding Regina’s marriage.

Nollywood Veterans Were Drawn Into the Controversy

Rollas later defended his comments by insisting that he acted out of concern for the actress rather than a desire to embarrass her publicly.

During the controversy, he mentioned several Nollywood figures, including Jide Kosoko and Okey Bakassi, as witnesses to the incidents he referenced. He urged them to speak publicly on the matter.

Nearly a year after the public fallout, Rollas has formally apologised to everyone involved. This signals an attempt to mend relationships and close one of Nollywood’s most talked-about controversies.
