Food Concepts Plc, Nigeria’s leading quick-service restaurant company, has expanded into Plateau State. The company launched Chicken Republic and PieXpress outlets in Jos.
The new outlets bring affordable meals and quick-service dining options closer to residents and visitors across the city.
Located on Old Airport Road, Jos, the outlets commenced operations and were officially opened on August 29. Representatives of Food Concepts Plc, Plateau State Government officials, invited guests and members of the Jos community attended the opening.
The expansion marks an important milestone for Food Concepts as it extends its footprint into Plateau State. It also brings two of its popular brands closer to consumers in Jos.
Chicken Republic offers a range of meals, including its signature Smokey Jollof, Chickwhizz, sides and other customer favourites. Meanwhile, PieXpress serves freshly baked pies and other quick meal options.

Speaking at the opening, Food Concepts Plc Managing Director, Mr Kofi Abunu, said the launch reflects the company’s commitment to expanding its reach.
Abunu was represented at the event by Mr Olumide Aniyikaiye, Marketing Director, Food Concepts Plc.
“The opening of our first outlet in Jos marks an important milestone in our continued expansion across Nigeria.

Plateau State Government
Welcoming the development on behalf of the Plateau State Government, Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Hon. Musa Ibrahim Ashoms, praised the investment.
He said the arrival of Chicken Republic and PieXpress would strengthen the state’s business and tourism landscape.
“We welcome Chicken Republic and PieXpress to Jos.
“This establishment will add to the tourism potential and business growth of the state.
“It will also give our people another opportunity to experience quality and delicious meals.
“We urge the company to consider opening more outlets across the city and the state,” he said.

Plateau Youths
Also speaking, Plateau State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Comrade Prince Miaphen, highlighted the opportunities created by the new outlets.
He encouraged young people to patronise the brands while noting their potential to support employment and skills development.
“I welcome Chicken Republic and PieXpress officially to Plateau State and urge our youths to patronise the brands.
“Beyond the food and its affordability, the opening creates opportunities for job creation and skills training.
“It will allow young people to gain relevant experience in the hospitality industry,” he said.

Susan Foyeke Oke-Job, Regional Manager, Abuja and North, said the expansion reflects Food Concepts’ commitment to Jos.
She added that the investment would contribute to the local economy through employment and supplier opportunities.
“Our expansion into Jos is a strategic step driven by our commitment to delivering high-quality meals, affordable prices, warm smiles and excellent service.
“The new outlets have created jobs for more than 30 young people and opened up business opportunities for local suppliers.
“We are not just opening restaurants; we are investing in the community,” she said.
The new outlets add to Jos’ growing food and lifestyle scene. They offer individuals, families and professionals convenient dining options.
Customers can now visit Chicken Republic and PieXpress on Old Airport Road, opposite the Old NITEL Building, Jos.
