It is official. Zinoleesky has parted ways with Marlian Music, bringing an end to his long-standing affiliation with Naira Marley’s label. He is now stepping into full independence with the launch of his own record label, Zinodict Music.
To mark the moment, he is releasing his debut single under the new label, a track titled Nostalgia, dropping at midnight. It is his first official offering as an independent artist.
For anyone who has been following his career, this did not exactly come out of nowhere.
Zinoleesky signed with Marlian Records in 2020 and quickly built momentum with his debut EP ‘Chrome Eccentric’ that same year. His profile kept growing, Grit and Lust in 2022 featured collaborations with Omah Lay and Ayra Starr, and his debut studio album Gen Z dropped in 2025. By any measure, he was one of the label’s biggest working acts.

However, the signs of tension had been there. Late last year, rumours of a split began circulating after he posted something online that sparked speculation. He quickly dismissed it at the time, writing “NM for life” on his Instagram story and telling people not to take the rumours seriously. A few months later, here we are.
He also made something clear before leaving, that he was not just speaking for himself. “I’m standing up not just for myself but for every artist who’s ever felt powerless or taken advantage of. We deserve better. We deserve transparency, fairness and respect,” he said.
That is a statement with weight behind it, especially given the shadow Mohbad’s story has cast over Marlian Music and conversations about how artists are treated by Nigerian labels more broadly. He did not name anyone specifically. He did not need to.

What matters now is what comes next. A new label, a new single called Nostalgia, and a singer who has spent six years building an audience that is very much ready to follow him wherever he goes.
The debut single is scheduled to drop at midnight on April 24, 2026. He has already shared a snippet and from what people have heard, the anticipation is real. Whether Nostalgia becomes the song that announces this new era properly or just the opening line of a much bigger story, that is a question that gets answered soon.
